HAPPY THANKSGIVING
“O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.” Psalm 118:1
Instead of a charge to give thanks for the things God has done or given us, it’s a request to give thanks for who God is—a merciful, unchanging, loving Lord. And that’s always something we can be grateful for.

I began our week at the office attending the meetings and arranging the visits with students. Greg traveled to Honolulu to pick up one of our ward members arriving back on the island after a work trip took him to the mainland. He arrived back just in time to teach a class for one of the professors, and then another mental health visit to finish up the day.
It is always nice to finish our Monday with other senior missionaries at the ukulele class!

Another Devotional Day:

I had to listen to it afterwards like you because I had to take a student down to Honolulu for her doctor appointment. They seem to be on Tuesdays!!
We ended the day with dinner at Seven Brothers with a sweet couple from our student ward. They are in the mist of making decisions and just wanted a sounding board.

The Thanksgiving holiday is being anticipated and the island style busy-ness is new to watch. The imu is being dug and the smell of burning wood is definitely in the air.
This is just a funny for multiple reasons. Span is not a budget item anymore. Pig in it’s original form (or in Ham form or a real turkey) is in the Imu
But, we had another student dinner at Pounders for the Intern class this semester.
Thursday, THANKSGIVING DAY! November 28, 2024
We had two Potluck Thanksgiving Dinner invites today and they were at different times, so we could attend both comfortably.
The Ahu family host the senior missionaries for the holiday. It was held at the Gateway Terrace (where we hold the Fast Sunday Munch and Mingle). We began with a song and prayer:

Ok, Thanksgiving has been wonderfully celebrated. . .
DECORATING can begin. . .
And to remember the season of Thankfulness:
- The Savior, our brother Jesus Christ as his life and sacrifice
- Family (whom we are celebrating with from afar)
- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and our membership so that we can worship in the temple
- Being able to learn and change and grow daily (hourly)
- Serve others
- Be served by others
- Friends both near and far. . .
- Eternal Life and forever family
This Holiday weekend just kept going. . .

BYU-Hawaii Campus
We started the morning with a walk to campus
We drove to Honolulu and spent the weekend with an overnight stay in “town”
The Sheraton Princess all decorated for Christmas
We’re dressed appropriately for our State Football Championship Game held on the University of Hawaii campus. Kahuku High School vs Saint Louis High School. . .
One team got to celebrate and one team did not!! The Red Raiders were the later 17-10 . . . What a game.
Glad we stayed over, it was 11pm before we got out of the stadium/parking.

Our day was different today, we didn’t have 8am church. We have been officially transferred to our new ward L6 (Laie 6th Ward, Laie Hawaii North Stake. They have the 1pm time slot. So, for the next four weeks we have a later start time.
Fast Sunday and a wonderful Fast and Testimony meeting at our new ward. Our Gospel Doctrine class was taught my President Grace, the CEO of the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC). We really enjoyed the class. We will finish the day with the Senior Missionary Munch and Mingle.
We will sign off with a scripture from the class:

4 Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.
We are Thankful for y’all and being a part of our lives and mission and Welcome to the Season of our Savior Jesus Christ. . .
